Semester Plus Program
In cooperation with the exciting Year and Semester Programs, Aardvark Israel is proud to offer a 6 1/2 month "Semester Plus" Program designed specifically for students from the Southern Hemisphere. Like the other great programs offered by Aardvark Israel, this program is tailor-made to meet the needs of Jewish students ages 17-22, today's "millennials," by offering a core program with a menu of add-on options enabling students to build their own program. Students from the Southern Hemisphere will arrive in January and will be integrated with the students who started their gap year in September from the USA, Canada, and Europe.
Students will experience Israel through immersion into Israeli society, service to the community through volunteer work and internships, and learning about Israel and Judaism through both formal academic and informal educational encounters. As a fully accredited university program, students may earn college credit for their coursework while on the program.
The Semester Plus program lasts 6 1/2 months and is divided into two semesters in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Students spend 4 1/2 months in one city, from mid-January through the end of May, and then 2 months in the other city, in June and July. In addition, the program includes excursions and hikes all over the country throughout the year.
The Semester Plus Program offers up to a full semester of college credit through a partnership with the American Jewish University in California.

Difference Between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Components
The Tel Aviv portion of the program includes both formal classes and informal education on Judaic and Zionist topics. The Jerusalem portion of the program is more focused on volunteering and informal educational experiences while experiencing the unique Jerusalem atmosphere.
