Students in the Aardvark Israel Programs are immersed into Israeli society, living in apartments in desirable neighborhoods in each city.  In Tel Aviv, students live in the trendy Florentine neighborhood surrounded by young Israelis, while in Jerusalem students live in the Katamonim neighborhood in an apartment building which is home to Israeli young adults spending a year volunteering prior to entering the army, friendly Israeli families, and Aardvark participants.  They are encouraged to establish relationships with their Israeli neighbors, become part of their communities, and grow to feel "at home" in each city.  Aardvark participants share their apartments only with other program participants.  There are no co-ed apartments.  With the guidance of qualified counselors, each group of approximately 6 students learn to cook, clean, do laundry, and live together as a group.
